Sharing my new found love - Ras Malai Cake from Sweet Celebration, Udaipur!




We are lucky to have some real talent in this beautiful city of Udaipur in many sectors, and when we talk about the Home Bakers, I must say the talent pool is really something we all can be proud!

Last Monday Ms Poonam Talreja, the owner of Sweet Celebration, informed me that she is going to bake a unique flavour and will send it over around the weekend for a tasting!

So, here it is, a creamy and rich in flavour, Ras Malai Cake and I immediately fall in love with it! 

Something, you can go gaga over it! The sponge was so fresh, and so as the malai, the Ras malai was blended in the cake and matched with the overall flavour profile such a way, that you won't feel you are eating something fusion. 

That's the skill you expect from someone when a fusion food comes in your way! 

Making Fusion is not just mixing the different edible items without understanding their texture, profile, flavour notes, or using them as some toppings on the top of the cake; but to understand the basics and then to help them to form a pleasant nexus of flavours.


Well Done Poonam ji! and I do think with this particular Ras Malai Cake you just upped the ante!
