Introducing Blue Cornflower aka Centaurea Cyanus

A beautiful weed from ancient Europe but majorly naturalised in North America in recent time. Bachelor's button is also a popular name for this beneficial weed! ;)

It can be used in many ways including therapeutic uses such as various digestive problems, hair and nail care. The dried petals can be used in Medicinal Tea or to make Essential Oil.

In the culinary world, the beautiful blue colour of the dried petals gives any dish an incredible dimension along with its several health benefits. 

Found this beauty during my recent culinary expedition at FoodHall in Mumbai and after a long discussion with their spice-expert thought to bring some back home. Priced at Rs. 3,200/- a kilo, this beautiful herb can be a great addition to a pantry of an experimental kitchen!
